OVERVIEW
This issue contains information on deep venous thrombosis in COVID-19 patients, transcranial Doppler, evaluation of endovascular arteriovenous fistulas with a dialysis clamp, and multiple peripheral arteriovenous malformations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After reading and studying the papers used for CME in the Spring 2021 Issue of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound, participants will be able to:
1. Compare the failure rate of traditional deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis in non-COVID-19 and COVID-19 patients
2. Discuss the location of thrombosis in COVID-19 patients
3. Describe the risk of deep venous thrombosis in COVID-19 patients
4. State the anatomical windows used to insonate arteries within the cranium
5. Explain the history of diagnostic medical sonography and transcranial Doppler, in particular
6. Describe the sensitivity of the tests used to evaluate for patent foramen ovale
7. List the possible outflow vessels in endovascular arteriovenous fistulas
8. Describe the use of the dialysis access clamp for endovascular arteriovenous fistulas
9. State the preferred outflow vessel in endovascular arteriovenous fistulas
10. Discuss possible complications of peripheral arteriovenous malformations
11. State the terminology used to describe the center of an arteriovenous malformation
12. List the sonographic features of arteriovenous malformations and differentiate these from hemangiomas.
