Overview:
This talk will be a comprehensive overview of spectral doppler as it pertains to clinical scanning. It will cover normal and abnormal arterial and venous spectral doppler waveforms. Pathologies and/or conditions that cause ‘specific’ spectral Doppler waveforms will be discussed. Spectral Doppler pit falls with helpful tips will be provided. A few case studies will be presented at the end of the talk.

Learning objectives:
• Recognize normal arterial and venous spectral Doppler waveforms in the different vascular beds (peripheral vs visceral).
• Recognize abnormal arterial and venous spectral Doppler waveforms
• Identify some of the pathologies, conditions, situations that cause specific spectral Doppler waveforms
• Review Pitfalls with spectral doppler (with tips to help avoid them)
• Case study review
