OVERVIEW
This issue contains information on treatment of a radial artery pseudoaneurysm using a compression device, an easily recreated ultrasound phantom for deep vein thrombosis, imaging practices for deep venous arterialization procedures, exercise stress testing when a patient presents with claudication and a normal ankle brachial index, changes of cerebral blood flow with a high-grade stenosis of a brachiocephalic pseudoaneurysm, a glomus tumor of the thigh, and penetrating wood splinter and ulnar artery occlusion.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After reading and studying the papers used for CME in the Summer 2021 Issue of the Journal for Vascular Ultrasound, participants will be able to:
1. Define limb-threatening critical ischemia
2. Define deep venous arterialization
3. State the most popular surveillance method used for deep venous arterialization
4. Discuss true claudication and pseudo-claudication
5. List the contraindications for exercise stress testing
6. Explain how to perform a reactive hyperemia examination
7. State the modality that is capable of detecting active embolization
8. List the characteristics of a micro embolic signal
9. Describe the abnormal “bunny” waveform seen on Transcranial Doppler
10. Explain the importance of adding simethicone to the gelatin phantom
11. State the importance of adding xanthan gum to the phantom
12. Explain how to diagnose an acute deep vein thrombosis with diagnostic ultrasound
13. List the typical symptoms of a glomus tumor
14. Describe the characteristics of a malignant glomus tumor
15. List the sonographic features of a glomus tumor
16. State the ideal treatment period for a retained foreign body
17. List the complications associated with a penetrating foreign body
18. State the sonographic features seen with a metal or glass foreign body
.
