OVERVIEW
This issue contains a review on upper extremity aneurysms, the effects of daylight savings time on vascular sonographers, a review on thyroid nodules, a report on pelvic venous disorders, a review on internal jugular phlebectasia, and five abstracts selected at the poster session from the annual conference.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After reading and studying the papers used for CME in the March 2025 issue of the Journal of Vascular Ultrasound, participants will be able to:
1. List risk factors for developing an upper extremity aneurysm.
2. Compare the characteristics of a true aneurysm verse a false aneurysm.
3. State the recommended approach to scanning an upper extremity arterial aneurysm with diagnostic ultrasound.
4. Explain the negative effects of daylight-saving time on health.
5. List strategies to reduce errors caused by daylight-saving time.
6. Explain the foundation of daylight-saving time.
7. List the imaging modalities used to diagnose a suspicious thyroid nodule.
8. Compare the ultrasound appearance of a normal thyroid and abnormal thyroid gland.
9. Describe the shape of a malignant thyroid lesion seen in diagnostic ultrasound.
10. List the signs and symptoms of pelvic venous disease.
11. List the treatment options for pelvic venous disease.
12. State the vessels involved in nutcracker syndrome.
13. List the characteristics of internal jugular vein phlebectasia.
14. State potential complications of internal jugular vein phlebectasia.
15. Explain the surgical procedure of venoplasty.
16. List the causes of carotid artery dissection.
17. State the characteristics of Takayasu’s arteritis.
18. Explain the use of a hemodialysis graft.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Physician, Vascular Technologist and Sonographer members of SVU should find participating in this educational activity valuable.
