Overview:
This course is designed to equip learners with an understanding of the evolving field of advanced vascular technology. It outlines the need for formal advanced educational programs which is supported by the recently updated scope of practice. It also describes the efforts to formalize advanced vascular curriculum through CAAHEP’s CoA-ACS. Learners will explore the essential roles and responsibilities of advanced vascular technologists along with the significance of lab accreditation standards and credentialing. Additionally, this course covers the necessity of quality and advancement within the vascular profession.

Objectives:
• Describe the need for formal advanced vascular educational programs
• Review the updated scope of practice
• Discuss the current status of the advanced vascular curriculum through CAAHEP’s CoA-ACS
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of an advanced vascular technologist
• Describe the importance of lab accreditation, standardization, and credentialing
• Review the process of quality assurance
• Discuss the need to advance the vascular profession
